Two cyber attacks occurred in the global shipping industry in just one week raising concern around security measures at companies that are major carriers of global goods trade. The International Maritime Organization (the United Nations arm that regulates global shipping) was hit by a cyberattack that brought down its website and internal systems. The incident followed a malware attack that hit CMA CGM (one of the world’s leading container liners), compromising the company’s information systems.
